I am a licensed massage therapist and received my core massage therapy training (over 750 hours) from the North Eastern Institute of Whole Health in Manchester, NH in 2007. This training included Swedish massage, deep tissue, foot reflexology, sports, chair massage, transitional, hot stone massage and other techniques. Since then, I have taken additional class work in Thai massage, trigger point therapy, cupping, scraping, and many other techniques. Since March 2008, I have been a licensed massage therapist in NH and/or Maine and earned my Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
I had my own successful part-time massage therapy practice in Concord, NH for 4 years before moving back to my home state of Maine to open this practice in June 2013. My practice ranges from relaxation massage to sessions focused on deep tissue work to relieve long standing issues. I have worked with athletes to alleviate tissue imbalances caused by their sport of choice and was fortunate to work on the athletes at 2 marathons, including the Boston Marathon. I have a special interest in foot reflexology and will often add components of it to a massage if warranted or desired.
I believe an hour massage should be a full hour on the table. Discussing your needs before the massage is not deducted from your massage time nor is the time spent checking in with you after the massage. The session is dedicated to, and about you.
I enjoy incorporating aromatherapy and herbal products as needed to enhance the session's effects and believe in using only the best oils and products.
I truly enjoy doing massage therapy since I have seen how much it can reduce someone's pain or stress level. It is extremely rewarding work and I look forward to working with you.
